游乐船指令94/25/EC是为了满足游乐船能够在欧盟市场上自由流通，而由欧洲标准化委员会（CEN）与欧洲电工标准化委员会（CENELEC）制定出来的法规。它是以安全为主要目的而制定出来的法规。游乐船指令下细化了许多协调标准，每个协调标准对应一类产品。制造商对游乐船方面的某类产品进行CE认证时，需要符合指令94/25/EC与相应协调标准的要求。制造商的产品由欧盟委员会授权的认证机构（NB）进行认证，如果达到要求，就可以获得《EC合格声明书》以及在产品上加贴CE 标志——此时，制造商的产品就可以在欧盟市场上自由流通了
什么样的游乐船（设备）可以做CE认证呢？
船长在2.5～24米之间用于运动游乐目的的船（可以是出租，或是用于游乐训练的游乐船）。另外还包括船上的备件，它们为：
1、船内或船尾发动机的点燃保护设备。
2、发动机的起动保护设备
3、方向盘，操纵机构，电缆组件
4、燃料箱和燃料管道
5、安装的舱口盖和舷窗
